These terms govern your use of the AccountyCat website, app downloads, free-trial activation flow, waitlist, and related services. By using them, you agree to these terms.

What AccountyCat is
AccountyCat is a macOS focus companion. It is productivity software, not accounting, bookkeeping, tax, legal, medical, or mental-health advice software.
License to use the app
Subject to these terms, you may download and use AccountyCat for your own lawful purposes. You may not resell access to the hosted parts of the service, abuse the trial system, interfere with the service, or use the product in a way that violates applicable law or the rights of others.
Open-source code and other materials
The source code repository is licensed separately under the MIT License. These terms apply to the website, branding, hosted trial infrastructure, issued trial access, and other materials that are not granted to you under that open-source license.
Trial codes and free cloud access
Trial codes are optional, limited, may expire, and may be unavailable at any time. They have no cash value, are not a subscription, and can be revoked if we reasonably suspect abuse, automation, resale, or attempts to bypass trial limits.
The trial is a capped usage budget for private cloud mode. When it runs out, you can switch to local mode, use your own OpenRouter key, or request a top-up if any remain available.
BYOK mode and third-party services
If you configure your own OpenRouter key, your use of OpenRouter is governed by OpenRouter's terms and policies. AccountyCat may also rely on third-party services such as GitHub for downloads or update checks. We are not responsible for third-party services, outages, or policy changes.
Privacy
Our Privacy policy explains how AccountyCat handles screenshots, accessibility-derived app context, trial activation data, and waitlist emails. That policy is part of how the service works, but it is not a substitute for these terms.
Updates, changes, and availability
We may change, improve, suspend, or discontinue any part of the website, app, trial flow, or waitlist at any time. We may also update these terms by posting a revised version here and changing the date above. Material changes will apply from the time they are published.
No warranty
To the extent permitted by law, AccountyCat is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not promise uninterrupted availability, perfect accuracy, or that the product will always correctly classify your activity or fit every workflow.
Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability where liability cannot be limited under applicable law, including liability for intent, gross negligence, injury to life, body, or health, or other mandatory statutory claims.
In all other cases, liability is limited to foreseeable damage typical for this type of contract. You remain responsible for how you use the software and for reviewing outputs, nudges, and settings before relying on them.
Termination
You can stop using AccountyCat at any time. We may suspend or end access to the trial or other hosted features if you materially breach these terms or abuse the service.
Consumer rights
If you are a consumer, any mandatory rights you have under applicable consumer law remain unaffected by these terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Germany, excluding conflict-of-law rules, to the extent this choice is permitted. If you are a consumer, mandatory protections of the country where you habitually live remain unaffected.
