Have a trial code?
If you already have a code, enter it during setup for a small cloud-model usage budget. No card, no account, no OpenRouter signup.

What we can and can't see
Submitting a code contacts accountycat.com to create your capped OpenRouter key. We keep the code, a random installation ID, redemption time, and the OpenRouter key identifier so we can limit trials and, if needed, top one up. For abuse prevention, a one-way network-address bucket lasts up to 24 hours. After setup, AccountyCat talks directly to OpenRouter: we never receive your screenshots, prompts, goals, or model responses. Screenshots are analyzed on the fly and discarded. It is open source if you want to verify any of this.
When the trial runs out
The trial is a small usage budget, not a subscription. You can see what is left in Settings → AI. When it runs out, add your own OpenRouter key (~$1–5/mo, you pay them directly), or switch to the free local model. AccountyCat itself is always free.
No code?
You can run AccountyCat for free on a local model, or use your own OpenRouter key for cloud models. Neither option needs a trial code.
